AN OPEN LETTER TO MY ANGLOPHONE BROTHERS & SISTERS.
By Ayah Paul Abine
You are all aware that in August 1986, thousands of innocent persons in the villages of Char, Subum and Nyos etc died from some mysterious “gas”. Close to three decades since and a good many of the survivors are still languishing in miserable abandonment. This situation contrasts with the notorious survivors of Nsam Efullan who went to steal fuel. None of us is unaware that huge sums of money from the State coffers are doled out to the latter annually. Even the devil surely does find this unjust.

Our world is unveiling itself in a way we can't understand. Last year was memorable. The wise are becoming wiser and the dumb, dumber! Progressives are distancing themselves from the common pool of stagnation. The rich are becoming richer and the the poor, poorer! Ghanaian Economist/Freedom Advocate , Dr George Ayittey shares his thoughts and methods on how Africa's dictators can be defeated.
''Africa has more dictators per capita than any other continent. In 1990, only four out of the 54 African countries were democratic; today, 21 years later, it is only 15''.
“We traded one set of masters (white colonialists) for another set (black neo-colonialists) and the exploitation and oppression of the African people continued unabated." - George Ayittey.
During the 2011 Oslo Freedom Forum, Dr George Ayyitey had a very thought provoking chat with Thor Halvorssen, President of the Human Rights Foundation . A must-read!!
He was also one of the key-note speakers at that forum( see Video)

It is not just coincidence that the individual: who initiated publicly the call to revise the constitution to allow Biya to rule ad infinitum, who heads ELECAM, who nominated Biya to be confirmed as Chairman of the CPDM in a recently held congress, who is the Campaign manager of the CPDM, who is the spokesman of the recently re-ignited Presidential Majority, who has made the highest donation so far for the CPDM campaign etc; are all of Southern Cameroonian extraction.
The Yaounde regime of the Republic of Cameroun has always sought to feign legitimacy by using quislings of the Western side of Moungo, even when it publicly snubs the plight of the Southern Cameroonian people . Egoism has often been the catalyst activating most of these short-witted politicians '...to serve as gatekeepers and scavengers for a government that denies them an identity and disrecognises their predicaments as a community...' as Professor Nyamnjoh B.F puts it in his paper 'Construction and Deconstruction: Anglophone or Autochtones? (1999)'
