In a letter to a nation, one would expect a 77 year old man who has
ruled for 27years, to present a platter of human and social
developmental strides that have marked his tenure this far at the helm
of the nation. and how these achievements can be preserved by future
generations. But Paul Biya - ruler of the Republic Of Cameroon is no
porter of a platter of any kind, after spearheading the plunge of this
great nation to the abyss of poverty. No doubt his 27th Anniversary
letter to the nation carried a barrage of the futuristic phrase ``I
will...`` , just like the fool at forty who is vowing not to be a fool
forever.

While most leaders hurried back to their various countries to continue tackling issues that concern their nations, Paul Biya, Ruler of La Republique Du Cameroun got carried away by the UN deliberations that he decided to prolong his stay at the UN. It should be recalled that the UN General Assembly 2009 debates started on the 23\09\09 .

By Neba-FuhThe recent reaction by Cameroons Minister of propaganda, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, castigating the French Press for highlighting the lavish lifestyle of Biya, is a desperate attempt to quench fire with fuel.
The lavish lifestyle of the Biyas and cronies is no news to the impoverished Cameroonian people. And as he{Biya} is quoted to have said when he was quizzed on the embezzlement of public funds: " Ou sont les preuves?

By Ekue John EpimbaThere are times when I am compelled to inquire whether those who are
at the helm of state affairs in this geographical expression called
Cameroon are living in the same country with the rest of us. Honestly,
the brazen callousness that characterizes their reactions to the plight
of Cameroonians relative to the accelerating decline in the economic
and social conditions in our polity smacks of despicable insensitivity
and borderless impudence.

The recent interview accorded to The Post Newspaper [www.thepostwebedition.com] by the out-going top British diplomat in Cameroon . Mr David Sydney Madicott echoed the often muted language our Western cronies understand most -armed conflict.

Unbearable heat emanating from the unconditioned air in the corridors ushered an 'undesirable' element en route his homeland.
A tourist clung to his heavy luggage as he struggled to dust off his pullover that just fell on the perpetual uncleaned floors.
Stenchy restrooms repelled him from a simple answer to nature's call.
Green-clothed porters, reeking of sweat, anxiously cajoled and coached arriving passengers on how to bribe custom officials -never repentant of their corrupt practices.

I read with keen interest the firm stand by the Social Democratic Front, SDF to boycott this year's 'National Day' celebrations published in the web edition of The Post Newspaper Why The SDF Will Boycott May 20 Celebrations
It should be recalled that the strategy of boycotting National Day celebrations is not a new phenomenon in the Cameroons and of course, it is not the first time SDF is staging a boycott.

The preamble of the Manifesto of the Social Democratic Front(SDF) highlights amongst other vices: 'humiliation of Cameroonians, oppression, hypocrisy and confusion' as some of the triggers that necessitated the creation of the Front.
The
founding fathers' holistic approach to the Cameroonian problems, had
replaced the original agenda of the idea of a platform to address the
Southern Cameroons struggle. A vision had been ditched and a national
political party the SDF emerged.

The role of any opposition party in an established democracy is to be
an unsolicited watchdog of the ruling party, while constantly aspiring
to take over power through democratic means, if possible. A front is a movement
aimed at achieving a specified political objective.

Whether Mr Jerome Mendouga, former Ambassador of Cameroun to the United
States of America sought asylum in the US or not, is insignificant , compared
to the harm he is alleged to have caused the people of this nation by
getting involved in a shady deal to buy an unfit plane for a worthless
ruler. After all, immigration officials of host nations do not grant
asylum depending on whether the reasons for your persecution or
would-be persecution in your country of origin are necessarily justified
or not.
