We weep with thee from far away.
Cursing nature's fury on a people deprived
Yelling in trapped harbours
Mangled by the severity of Earth's wrath.
As Mother-hen wailed to no avail
Dumped in that bare island, for freedom's sake
No route in sight to your Motherland.
Today, Mother Africa weeps for her offspring
Littered in carriageways and labyrinths of horror
While agonizing survivors wrestled with hope
Exacerbated by demeaning impoverishment
A people, infinitely oppressed
Their destiny shaped by Babylon's ploy
Never recovering from the bruises of serfdom
Inflicted by their sadistic masters.
Today, it is nature's turn
A miniscule dose of biblical end-day
' like a thief in the night'
Rendering brethren helpless!
A perished family,
loved ones caged in rubble
Orphaned newborns, dying kids
lacerated victims, languishing in pain
Haiti's horror persists as the the clock ticks on
Leaving only hope to hang on
Perplexed by our diminution
In a world where no human calls the last shot.
