The Supreme Court's commissioning of the 10 persons appointed by Mr Biya , to man the rigging machines of elections in Cameroun under the banner of ELECAM (supposedly a 'neutral' body to manage elections), is the last attempt by rats to mount a catwalk where the audience is made up of cats.
The Scriptures tell us that the extent of Jesus' compassion, tolerance and patience were stretched when he met people trading in the his Father's temple. He reacted!! Moreover, if you are one of those who fervently believe that every prophecy and revelation in the bible will come to pass, then there is one being mentioned in the Scriptures that God has promised to destroy -satan- the evil one. Even in God's boundless forgiveness, satan-the evil one, will not be forgiven.
The constant provocation of the Camerounian people by Biya at the sunset of his life coupled with his unquenchable thirst for power , can result to nothing other than extremism. The people's resolve will one day be manifested. It's just a matter of time, and we will all experience it.
By appointing die -hard CPDM cronies to manage elections from start to finish, Biya is putting old wine into old cups and expecting it not to be poisonous.
Any level-headed individual who has followed the chronicle of events since Biya came to power can not be surprised by his every move. Biya's predictability is becoming more obvious as his days in power prolong. Desperation breeds predictability!
He has wrestled his way into a labyrinth and posed as a 'king kong', but unable to trace his route out from the tight corner he's placed himself. He trusts nobody but his weird instincts, that will end up betraying him. For 'us' who see beyond the horizon, we see a panicking ruler guided by survival instincts, confirming the maxim that 'Maslow's bottom rungs are not only reserved for the poor'.
The appointment of the Fonkams, Njeumas, Mbondas, Bombas etc of the CPDM as members of ELECAM, is a decision void of political synthesis or even pretense. It is a decision that smacks desperation. It is the second slap on the second cheek! The criteria laid down guiding the appointment of individuals into this body were outrightly breached as usual. In a country of more than 17 million people, and after 'consultations', Biya's choice of people who can exhibit a recommendable degree of independence, impartiality, integrity and neutrality fell on members of the Political Bureau and Central committee of his party-the CPDM. Mockingly, some of them rushed to 'resign' from their party. This is another trust betrayed, after the recent manipulation of the constitution to prolong his tenure in power.
In the first place, it is an illusion to think that a ruler who has ruled for more than 26years, continuously rigged elections and manipulatively alter the constitution during his 26th year in power to permit him rule ad infinitum, will set up a fair electoral body. Fairness, independence, impartiality, neutrality and integrity are pieces of lexicon incompatible to Biya's character. He has survived by their antonyms.
The wrath of the people will come like a thunderbolt to those who thought their collective wisdom has numbed. They will think it is an architecture of 'apprentice sorcerers' , hoping their shallow logic from 'gnostic masters' will quell it. No! No! No! A route not traced before will be pursued and doubting Thomases will discount it as 'uncamerounian'.
Beer will not drown sorrow, as patriots forcefully unclench a clenched fist. The forces of good will destroy the evil ones and the illuminated will confirm their assertion that absolute forgiveness is an absolute illusion, even in God's realm.
