Ghana- the land of African visionary Kwame Nkrumah has transited from one democratic President to another- a real antithesis of the present status quo in Africa. A continent that is stinking of stale leadership resulting to its positioning in the egoistic quadrant of the world order, all because of its numerous autocrats, continually denying to relinquish power.
Nana Akufor-Addo, the 'runner-up' in the Ghanaian presidential elections exhibited real statesmanship, when he conceded defeat as Ghana Electoral Commission declared his opposition rival, Prof John Atta Mills as winner, after second round of voting.
Prof John Atta Mills, a law professor has been sworn in as President and he replaces John Kufuor.
Ghana's election has been described by observers on the ground as free and fair, despite any petty shortcomings. It was a well organized process and the people exercised their right to choose who governs them.
Ghana is a pacesetter alongside Botswana, Tanzania, Liberia and a host of other nations that have held moderately peaceful and fair elections. They have vindicated Africa from the common stereotype that the majority of African egoistic elitist oligarchs can only be rooted from power by death.
Cameroun, Zimbabwe, Gabon, Equitorial Guinea, Kenya and many other countries have been under the sledge hammer of expired rulers who have vowed to adhere to power through whatever means possible. They fidget with their constitutions or rig elections with impunity.
Ghana's bold baby steps towards continuation of of people's power, evident by a well organized democratic elections, is an eye opener to all real Africans who are thirsty to drink from the new African democratic renaissance fountain, that has so far constantly been polluted by its numerous despots.
Congratulations Ghana!

Democracy is an attribute of the English culture. It should take no compatriot aback that there was a peaceful transition of power in that country. Until we realise that the french-backed Biya regime has an unchanging desire to oppress and usurp our basic freedoms with stoicism. It's time to fight back. We are coming!
